The Irish Bouzouki is an adaptation of a Greek instrument called the Bouzouki (Boo-Zoo-Key). An Irish musician Dónal Lunny is credited with making the first changes to the Bouzouki. However, it was another Irish Musician named Johnny Moynihan who first brought the Greek bouzouki to Ireland for use in Irish Traditional Music. (Gladstone Guitars and Ukuleles, n.d.)
